The Adamawa state command of the Nigeria Customs Service has stopped a fuel tanker loaded with bags of foreign rice and urea fertilizer that were concealed inside of black polythene bags.
Over the course of two months, the products, with a combined value of over N144 million, were confiscated along the Nigeria-Cameroon border route.
Other commodities confiscated are PMS worth over N12 million, 1,000 kilograms of donkey skins packed in 10 sacks, and 165 kilograms of pangolin scales.
Olaniyi Alajogun, the controller of customs for the Adamawa/Taraba Area Command, told reporters that the procedures taken to stop smuggling along the route were what allowed for the seizures.
