Nicolas Aina, 28, has been charged with killing his mother Caroline Adeyelu, 64, by stabbing her many times.
In Dagenham, East London, United Kingdom, in their family home, Aina also hurt his 33-year-old sister, Angel Adeyelu.
The 28-year-old is accused of entering his sister’s bedroom and repeatedly stabbing her with a knife, according to ITV News.
Caroline reportedly stepped inside after hearing her daughter’s screams to investigate, but the suspect allegedly lunged at her with the knife before running from the scene in Auriel Avenue.
Aina’s sister received hospital treatment for stab wounds before being released, but his mother was pronounced dead at the spot.
Samantha Southey, a neighbor who resided close to the victims’ home, reportedly claimed to have heard the disturbance caused by the occurrence.
I just heard some disturbance last night,” she remarked. The police arrived at the door and announced their capture. It’s somewhat terrifying.
According to reports, Aina was charged with murder and an attempted murder on Tuesday, November 1, when he appeared before Judge Philip Katz KC at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court.
He was kept in custody until his court appearance at the Old Bailey.
Superintendent Richard Vandenbergh, a detective with the East Area Command Unit, called the episode “really frightening.”
