In order to settle the farmers and herders dispute in the Guri Local Government Area of Jigawa State on Wednesday, hoodlums allegedly killed a soldier. The local government’s head, Malam Musa Muhammad, verified the occurrence to reporters.
The soldier was “killed while on duty after they reacted to a distress call to defuse tension following the public outrage after the herders apparently encroached farms,” he claims.
According to Musa, the alleged thieves first shot the soldier with a bow and arrow before hacking at his corpse with a machete. He claimed that the criminals had also stolen the soldier’s gun.
The suspected hoodlums, according to the head of the neighborhood council, are thought to be herders looking for pasture.
But he added that the event is being looked into by security organizations.
