Online discussion has been sparked by a video of a bride refusing to pronounce “for richer for poorer” while saying her marriage vows.
On their wedding day, a video of the cute couple exchanging vows at the altar was posted online. The bride’s refusal to speak exactly what the presiding priest had instructed her to say, however, drew criticism.
To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or for worse, the officiating minister is heard saying in the video.
The bride substituted “for richer for richer” for “for poorer for poorer” when it came her turn to recite the vows after the officiating pastor.
The crowd and the preacher immediately burst out in riotous laughing at the bride’s antics as soon as she said that.
The preacher answered that she admired the bride’s fervor.
The bride’s hand was always in the groom’s, and he was laughing aloud the entire time.
